Sen Mike politicians and citizens across the country mourn the tragic incident in Minnesota, Lee’s sultry posts have only served to incite violence. Lee wrote on Twitter (now X) –
“This is what happens when Marxists don’t get their way.”
Along with the comment, he also shared a photo of accused Vance Bolter – who, dressed in a police uniform, drove a fake car and killed former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, and severely injured Senator John Hoffman and his wife.
‘Nightmare on Waltz Street’? Now what was this?
Mike Lee didn’t stop there. He also took a dig at Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, writing:
“Nightmare on Walz Street”
The line may be wordplay, but at a time when the entire state is in shock, this tweet became a symbol of not only political insensitivity but moral bankruptcy.
???? Social media caught fire – the public took Lee to task
After Lee’s tweet, “#MikeLeeResign” started trending on Twitter (X). Users erupted in anger:
One user wrote:
“Mike Lee is a vile human being who is making fun of two murders committed by an extremist. He should get help and do some introspection.”
????️ Another tweeted:
“He has been a bad poster boy before, but this is a new low. Such a man has no right to hold office in a democratic country.”
FBI Alert – $50,000 Reward
Accused Vance Bolter is still at large. Police and FBI are working day and night to catch him. His car found on a rural road has led to a further investigation. The FBI has offered a $50,000 reward for anyone who can help lead to his arrest.
Senator Lee still silent – but for how long?
Mike Lee has not yet offered any explanation or apology. But public anger is deep, and he is under pressure to resign.
In a time of tragedy when unity and sensitivity are needed, Mike Lee’s comments not only inflame political division but also show that some politicians even today cross the limits of humanity for likes on social media.
This is no longer just a matter of law and order, but of sensitivity versus sensation in politics.
Will Mike Lee be able to withstand this public anger or will these tweets become the biggest blunder of his political career?
Only time will tell… but the internet doesn’t forget. ????????
