Amid trade talks in Geneva, Trump made a new announcement – said, ‘friendly but creative reset’ was discussed in US-China relations
President Donald Trump created a stir on Saturday night by claiming that a big step has been taken towards a “full reset” in the ongoing trade talks between the US and China in Geneva. Trump posted on Truth Social and said, “Many issues were discussed, many agreements were reached and a very friendly but strong conversation took place about a full reset. Great progress was made!!!”

Although Trump did not clarify what “full reset” means, but it is certain that if it proves to be true, it will be no less than a lifesaver for the business world and investors. The tariff war that has been going on for months, which shook global trade, is now perhaps moving towards a new beginning.
U.S. Hundreds of billions of dollars worth of business are at stake due to the US and China clash. Domestic sellers had warned that in a few weeks the shelves of the shops would start looking empty and inflation would start skyrocketing. In such a situation, this promise of a reset has come as a ray of relief for the American public and the global markets.
Trump had recently criticized the 80% tariff on China, while the current rate is 145%. On the other hand, China had reacted harshly by calling the US trade tariffs “abuse”. Nevertheless, Trump’s statement that the two countries have had constructive and solid talks is being considered a strategic masterstroke.
As Sunday’s talks progress, the eyes of the global markets will be fixed on whether this is really just a political statement or a historic turning point is about to come. The world grappling with the trade war is now waiting – has a peace deal really been reached between Trump and China?
